REGIONAL PROSECUTORS MEET IN SARAJEVO TO DISCUSS COOPERATION IN WAR CRIMES CASES

A technical-level meeting of regional prosecutors was held in Sarajevo earlier this week. The participants looked into discrepancies in legal frameworks governing regional cooperation in war crimes cases, challenges faced in the process and persisting obstacles in the way of fully effective interaction between war crimes prosecutors across the region.

The meeting was hosted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Office of the BH Prosecutor, with support provided by the UK Government and Italian Embassy to BH. The event was attended by delegations of the Offices of the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor, International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT), BH Prosecutor, Supreme State Prosecutor of Montenegro and Croatian State Prosecutor.

Facilitated by the UNDP and IRMCT, the Sarajevo meeting was yet another one in a series of regional events focusing on the enhancement of regional cooperation.
