Background facts

According to the indictment allegations, the accused, AA, aided and abetted by three other suspects, engaged in the killing of three Bosnian Muslims in an incident that occurred in Prijedor, BH in March 1994. Specifically, AA - at the time member of the Republic of Srpska's reserve police force - threw a bomb on the victims' family home, whereupon he broke inside and killed the remaining survivors.

Procedural remarks

Three persons specified in the indictment as the crime co-perpetrators were prosecuted before a BH court and sentenced to prison terms ranging from 10 to 20 years. The case against AA, a Republic of Serbia's citizen unavailable to the BH judicial authorities, was referred to the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor's Office, which conducted the investigation and brought charges against this defendant.
